Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso looks primed to stay at the club this summer despite exit rumours.
Ange Postecoglou appears to be keen on keeping Giovani Lo Celso at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
That is according to a report from Spanish website Mucho Deporte, who have been discussing Lo Celso as a potential signing for Real Betis.
They suggest that a return to Betis – the club Lo Celso left in 2019 – is now ‘more complicated than it already was’.
The cost of a deal was already a problem for Betis but the report claims that Ange Postecoglou now wants to keep Lo Celso.
The Australian is thought to be ‘delighted’ with what Lo Celso has provided in pre-season, meaning his fortunes at Spurs are changing.
Lo Celso allegedly ‘feels comfortable’ with Postecoglou and his style of play, which suits him better than Tottenham’s last couple of managers.
That means Betis are pretty much losing all hope of re-signing Lo Celso with his Spurs career potentially being saved.

Ange Postecoglou comments on Giovani Lo Celso
Tottenham boss Postecoglou witnessed Lo Celso turn in a fine performance against West Ham United last week, scoring a goal and creating chances for teammates.
Postecoglou likes technical, attacking players and Lo Celso seems like a good fit for that approach.
Postecoglou has now been asked about the rumours surrounding Lo Celso potentially staying at Tottenham.
The Australian told Football London that people don’t need to read reports from Spain to know his feelings about Lo Celso.
Postecoglou made it abundantly clear that he likes Lo Celso as the midfielder has been ‘really good’ in Spurs training of late.

The Spurs boss added that Lo Celso is clearly a ‘quality player’ and it looks like he is enjoying Tottenham’s new style.
“I’m here mate you don’t have to go all the way to Spain, just ask the question… I’m really happy with Gio,” said Postecoglou. “He’s been really good in training. You can see he’s a quality player and I think the way we play suits him. I’ve enjoyed working with him and I think he’s enjoying himself in terms of the football we want to play and yeah it’s going well,” he added.
This sounds like Lo Celso will be given chances to shine at Tottenham, especially with Rodrigo Bentancur out injured.
Aston Villa have been linked with Lo Celso with boss Unai Emery a huge fan of the midfielder having signed him twice at Villarreal.
Any Villa hopes will have to be parked for now though with Postecoglou seemingly keen to keep the Argentinian.
