Liverpool are bidding again for Romeo Lavia but Arsenal have ‘gone quiet’ in the race for the Southampton midfielder.
Arsenal have seemingly taken a step back from the race to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Liverpool are set to ramp up their bid for Lavia.
Liverpool had a £37million offer for Lavia rejected earlier this week but are coming back with a new approach.
Romano claims that the Reds will now offer around £42.5million with another £2.5million in add-ons.
The hope is that Liverpool can get this deal done quickly as they don’t want to hang around and risk losing Lavia to Chelsea.

Arsenal seem to be out of Romeo Lavia race
Romano also notes that Arsenal have ‘gone quiet’ on a move for Lavia despite showing an interest earlier in the window.
Football Transfers earlier in July that Lavia wanted to join Arsenal in order to work under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal also have Champions League football on offer, which was thought to appeal to Lavia.
Arsenal’s plans seem to have changed though with holding midfielder Thomas Partey now expected to stay.
The Gunners no longer have a need for a defensive midfielder and they seemingly won’t challenge Liverpool for his signature as things stand.

Romeo Lavia a major investment for the future at Liverpool
Liverpool are still expecting to lose experienced midfielder Fabinho with a move to Saudi Arabia on offer.
The Reds are putting a lot of faith in Lavia by bringing him in as an apparent replacement for the Brazilian.
Lavia is only 19 and has just one year of Premier League experience under his belt.
Heading straight into a key role at Anfield is a major leap, especially after being relegated at the end of last season.
Liverpool clearly see major potential in Lavia though and are ready to take the rough with the smooth right now in the hope that the Belgian becomes a superstar.
