Former Manchester United and Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao is reportedly in talks with clubs from the mega-rich Saudi Pro League, as the striker could be set to become the next big name to make the move.

According to Fabrizio Romano, clubs from the Middle East have reached out to the Colombian forward’s entourage about the potential possibility of making the move to the Pro League.

Whether Falcao would make the move remains to be seen, although the former Monaco forward has certainly had a successful career, no matter where goes next.

Falcao has spent the last two seasons at La Liga side Rayo Vallecano, where he scored just twice for the Spanish side in 27 appearances.

It has been a rather bizarre career at times for the Colombian, he spent a season on loan at Manchester United for a lot of money according to The Independent, before doing the exact same thing the following season at Chelsea. Both loans were certainly unsuccessful.

After just five goals in the Premier League for United and Chelsea, the forward seemed revitalised when he came back to AS Monaco. This was partly due to the sheer amount of talent around the forward, with 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe, Fabinho, Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko around him which gave him all the chances in the world to thrive.

Saudi Pro League next?

The Colombian forward is approaching the end of his career in Europe and it seems the next logical step is to either make the move to Saudi Arabia or potentially the MLS.

A move to Saudi Arabia would represent yet another player making the move to the Middle East but Falcao, at the age of 37, may think it’s the right time to make the move. He can secure his family’s future, play in a new league and see how the league develops.

With the qualities he still has, he may well be able to carry on for another two or three years, yet.
