Tottenham Hotspur have accepted a £13million bid from Spartak Moscow for Davinson Sanchez – but the defender isn’t sure.

Davinson Sanchez isn’t fully convinced by a move to Spartak Moscow despite Tottenham Hotspur accepting a bid.

The Times report that Tottenham have now accepted an offer worth around £13million for Sanchez.

Tottenham seem happy to move Sanchez on but the defender doesn’t seem entirely convinced by a move to Russia.

The Athletic note that Sanchez has ‘reservations’ about making the move to Spartak.

A number of factors are mentioned in that report, from the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, Russian clubs being banned from European competitions and even potential racial abuse.

Sanchez is weighing up his options but it’s stated that there is ‘scepticism’ over him actually making the move.

Sanchez does have other options with Real Betis, Sevilla and Galatasaray all thought to be keen.

A departure would be wise for all but Sanchez needs to make sure the move is right for him – both for footballing and non-footballing reasons.

Ange Postecoglou comments on Davinson Sanchez exit

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media today and was asked about Sanchez’s future.

The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare has quoted Postecoglou as saying that Sanchez is one of a number of Spurs players ‘exploring their options’ right now.

Postecoglou seems happy for Sanchez to leave the club some six years since joining from Ajax in a £42million deal.

The Colombian was supposed to become a star at Tottenham but after a bright start, the last couple of years have been tricky.

It’s best for Sanchez to get a fresh start elsewhere and kickstart a defensive overhaul at Tottenham.

Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon seem primed to leave Tottenham too with Tottenham now chasing at least two new centre back signings.

Splashing £42million on Sanchez to then sell him for just £13million may feel a tad frustrating, but Spurs just need to move him on and start afresh.
