Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are among the clubs interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea, according to a report.
The Guardian has reported that Newcastle United are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also keen on Gallagher, who was described as “extraordinary and outstanding” by former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel on the club’s official website in April 2022 while he was on loan at Crystal Palace.
The Guardian has claimed that although Newcastle have “targeted” the England international midfielder, they “would need to sell a midfielder first”.

In our opinion, Newcastle United are unlikely to be able to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
West Ham United are actively trying to sign the English youngster and have had a bid for him already turned down.
The London Evening Standard has claimed that the Hammers are willing to pay £40 million for the 23-year-old England international midfielder, but Chelsea want £50 million.
There is also active interest from Tottenham.
The Guardian’s report suggests that until and unless Newcastle are able to offload a midfielder, they will not be able to make a move for Gallagher.
West Ham do not have any such an issue.
Chelsea are not going to wait for Newcastle to get their side of things sorted and will sell Gallagher to whichever club pay the £50 million transfer fee first.
Gallagher is a versatile player who can operate in central midfield, in a more advanced position or out wide.
The 23-year-old has made 99 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Gallagher has scored 13 goals and given six assists in those games.
