Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly determined to sign Bitello from Gremio.

According to Gremistas, Arsenal are interested in signing Bitello from Gremio in the summer transfer window.

The report in the Brazilian news outlet has claimed that Arsenal are planning to make a bid for the midfielder in the coming days.

Gremio want €10 million (£8.65 million) in transfer fees for the 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder.

However, there is a major problem.

Gremistas has reported that Bitello could struggle to get a work permit to play for Arsenal in the Premier League.

Since Bitello has not played in international competitions for Gremio, the 23-year-old does not have the necessary points to make the move.

Arsenal could find an agreement to sign Bitello now, but the youngster would have to stay in Brazil until December and then move to the Gunners.

Arsenal should bid for Bitello

In our opinion, Arsenal should bid for Bitello even if they are unable to bring him to the Emirates Stadium now.

If the Gunners are able to bring the Brazilian to North London in the middle of next season, then they should try to get a deal done now.

It is not unheard of for European clubs to agree deals with South American players in the summer and not bring them until the middle of the following season.

Bitello is 23 now and has been playing in Brazil so far in his career.

It could take the youngster a while to get used to the Premier League.

Arsenal need to be patient with Bitello, if indeed they signed him this summer.

Meanwhile, new Arsenal signing Kai Havertz is delighted to have found the back of the net for the Gunners in their 5-0 win against Major League Soccer’s All-Stars this week.

Germany international Havertz, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, joined Arsenal from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old won the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup during his time at Chelsea.
