Jason Cundy has told Tottenham Hotspur to sell striker Harry Kane because it will aid manager Ange Postecoglou in the long run.

The former Chelsea player feels that it would be the ‘best for everyone’ if that call was made this summer rather than the England captain heading for the exit door on a free in 12 months.

As of this moment, Harry Kane will become a free agent during the summer of 2024 and there is every chance that he could sign for another Premier League team.

But, for Cundy, this doesn’t help Ange Postecoglou’s cause because he can get the ‘best out of the team’ by building for the future now, rather than having to go again when Tottenham’s star man does eventually go, as he told talkSPORT

If the new Spurs boss hasn’t spoken to Kane about his future, then he better ought to do it right now.

If the 29-year-old has hinted at, not just staying, but signing a new deal, then forget about the outside noise, if he hasn’t, then Cundy has a simple solution.

“It’s the best for everyone right now, for Kane and for Spurs,” said Cundy. “I think Postecoglou wants a squad of players that he knows he is going to have now and build forward.

“If he knows that Kane is leaving next season, then it’s going to turn into a circus at every press conference. And he knows, whatever happens next season, if he does leave, then he has to replace him.

“Why wouldn’t you want to do that now? Do it now. In his first season. You are never going to replace Kane. But move forward with the type of player he wants to get the best out of this team.”

Tottenham will never replace Kane

Only very few players, if anyone in world football, could argue to be better than Kane.

Unless Spurs sign those players, such as Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski, then they will never replace Kane.

At the end of the day, how do you replace a guy who is your club-record goalscorer and is less than 50 goals away from becoming the Premier League’s all-time top-scorer?
