Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been linked with Ryan Gravenberch as a potential replacement for Anfield star Fabinho.

The Athletic has reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Gravenberch is one of the midfielders that Liverpool are looking at as a potential replacement for Fabinho.

The Brazil international defensive midfielder is reportedly on his way to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia in a £40 million transfer deal.

Liverpool could struggle to sign Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich

In our opinion, Liverpool could struggle to sign Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

Bayern are one of the biggest and most historic clubs in the world.

They will not sell any of their players unless they want to or have to.

And Bayern do not want to cash in on the 21-year-old Netherlands international midfielder this summer.

The Athletic reported in late June that although Liverpool “held productive talks with the player’s camp”, Bundesliga champions German champions Bayern do not want to part company with the £200,000-a-week (The Mirror) Gravenberch.

Gravenberch has publicly said that he was not happy with limited playing time last season, but things could change now.

Thomas Tuchel was appointed the Bayern head coach in March 2023.

Perhaps after a full pre-season, Gravenberch could convince the former Chelsea boss to make him a regular in the Bayern first team.

Bayern signed Gravenberch from Ajax in the summer of 2022.

Then board member for sport, Hasan Salihamidžić, told the club’s official website in June 2022 that the midfielder is “one of the biggest talents in Europe, has superb technical ability, always finds solutions in tight spaces, is very dynamic and a goal threat”.

Gravenberch made three starts and 21 substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern last season.

The Dutchman made two starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the Bavarian giants last campaign.
