Leicester City want to bring Cesare Casadei to the King Power Stadium this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Leicester City are seeking a loan deal for Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei.
Enzo Maresca is keen to bolster his squad’s midfield contingent this summer. The losses of James Maddison and Youri Tielemans have left Leicester looking light on numbers in the middle of the park, even with the arrival of Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur taken into account.
Immediate promotion back to the Premier League will be the aim for Leicester this season, and Maresca will need to be sure he has enough midfield depth to call upon to get them through what will be a long, challenging campaign. Casadei demonstrated during his loan stint with Reading last season that he can cut it in the second tier.
From Chelsea’s perspective, securing a loan move for Casadei makes sense, as the talented 20-year-old needs regular game time to continue his development.

Who is Cesare Casadei?
The Italian midfielder came through the academies of Cesena and Inter Milan, before he joined the youth set-up at Stamford Bridge in 2022. The deal cost the Blues an initial £12.6 million, and there are high hopes for Casadei, who had already been training with the senior squad at Inter Milan prior to his move to London.
The Italy under-21 international looks ready to kick on and thrive in the Championship this season, having spent the second half of the last campaign with Reading. Ex-Reading boss Paul Ince was impressed with Casadei, and highlighted that the midfielder “can only get better,” as quoted by Berkshire Live. Playing in Leicester’s midfield from the off this season is the ideal chance to shine that Casadei needs.
