Sergino Dest has made it clear ‘I see myself staying’ at Barcelona beyond the 2023 summer transfer window despite links to the likes of West Ham United and Wolves.
West Ham, after selling Declan Rice for a club-record transfer, have a bucket load of money to spend and fans are expecting David Moyes to boost his squad, but the same can’t be said for Wolves, who have to watch their steps regarding FFP.
A player of Sergino Dest’s qualities would excite both sets of supporters in London and the Midlands, but he has recently shared that he is staying on at Barcelona where he is looking to ‘prove’ himself to manager Xavi Hernandez, as he told BeanyManSports.
At 22-years-old, the Dutch-born star, who is an American international, has high-quality technical ability and is a speed machine on that right flank.
That’s why Barcelona paid Ajax £24 million for his talents when he was a teenager back in 2020 (Sky Sports), but he was loaned out to AC Milan last season where things didn’t really work out.
Either way, that hasn’t stopped the likes of West Ham and Wolves from expressing interest in the player, but despite that, he has plans to stay in Spain.

“I see myself staying,” said Dest. “Obviously, I have to prove myself during the pre-season. I’m fully focused on myself, at the moment. It’s up to me. I feel like I can and I will prove it.
“My mindset is to stay here and have a really nice season and to follow through with Barca.”

Spending the Rice money
In years gone by, West Ham, when they have spent, they haven’t done a great job of it.
Well, they have to do some pushing and shoving now because they have lost such a key figure within their team.
If they start in the manner in which they did last season, then they will be in serious trouble because, whilst they managed to claw their way out of a relegation battle back then, it won’t happen again.
