Tottenham Hotspur are fearing a Liverpool hijack attempt for Micky van de Ven – and could yet turn to Levi Colwill.
Micky van de Ven to Tottenham Hotspur isn’t a sure thing amid concerns that he could end up at Liverpool.
That is according to a report from The London Evening Standard, who claim that Tottenham fears missing out on Van de Ven.
It’s stated that Spurs have been in talks to sign Wolfsburg defender Van de Ven in the hope of securing a deal.
The Guardian claimed earlier this week that Tottenham were confident of signing the Dutch centre back.
However, it’s now suggested that there are fears inside Tottenham that Liverpool could hijack them for Van de Ven and lure him to Anfield this summer.

Levi Colwill crucial to Micky van de Ven rumours
The report highlights that Tottenham are also interested in snapping up Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.
Colwill has been a prime Liverpool target of late and Tottenham now appear to be joining the race.
We aren’t expecting Chelsea to sell to Tottenham any time soon but Colwill’s future is now vital to that of Van de Ven.
If Liverpool can’t convince Chelsea to offload Colwill this summer, they may well focus on Van de Ven.
Both are young and talented defenders with huge potential but are crucially both left-footed too.
Left-footed centre backs have become very popular in the modern game, and that is now being displayed with Van de Ven and Colwill both attracting interest from Spurs and Liverpool.

Jorg Schmadtke will know all about Micky van de Ven
Tottenham fears of a Liverpool push for Van de Ven fly right in the face of recent claims from Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung.
The German newspaper reported earlier this week that Liverpool were out of the race and wouldn’t be moving for Van de Ven.
Maybe Liverpool are just maintaining an interest in the 22-year-old in case they can’t sign Colwill, and they have somebody who knows him well.
Liverpool’s sporting director Jorg Schmadtke not only worked for Wolfsburg in his last job but actually signed Van de Ven.
Schmadtke paid around €3.5million (£3million) to land Van de Ven from Volendam in 2021, and that deal looks like an incredible bargain now.
Schmadtke has knowledge and connections when it comes to Van de Ven, and his presence may be part of the reason why Spurs are fearful.
