Paul Pogba could be let go by Juventus already with one Aston Villa legend admitting that he would welcome the former Manchester United man back to the Premier League with open arms.
A few years ago, you’d have scoffed at suggestions that a player of Paul Pogba’s talent and reputation could end up donning the claret-and-blue kit of Aston Villa.
But it’s testament to how far Villa have come under Unai Emery – from relegation candidates to Champions League dark-horses – that the perennially-underachieving Midland giants can now consider themselves capable of landing some of Europe’s biggest names; Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte, Moussa Diaby and the incoming Pau Torres among them.

And former Villa captain Gabby Agbonlahor believes his old employers could do a lot worse than to consider offering Pogba the chance to kick-start his career after a couple of seasons ruined by injury.
“100 per cent yeah,” Agbonlahor tells talkSPORT (12th July, 9am). “If he got back to fitness, he could break into Villa’s side.
“He’s still got that fair eye for a pass, that eye for a goal. I rate him.”
Paul Pogba already facing Juventus exit
One of the most naturally-talented midfield players of his generation, Pogba’s recent career has been littered by injury and inconsistency.
It’s telling that, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus may now be willing to let the 2018 World Cup winner leave for just £8.5 million; Pogba’s dream Turin homecoming turning into a nightmare in 2022/23.

The mercurial 30-year-old played only 108 minutes of Serie A football under Max Allegri. In fact, since the start of 2021/22, he has only started 17 league matches for Juventus and Man United respectively.
Gazzetta dello Sport add that Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ahli are willing to offer Pogba a staggering 150 million euro contract to bring his fanciful footwork and bandy-legged brilliance to the Middle East, though a player who joined Man United for a world-record £89 million seven years ago appears determined to continue his career on European soil.
