Reports linking Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez with a move to Turkey are ‘true’ with the Premier League giants receiving a bid from Galatasaray.

That is according to Fernando Villarreal, the 27-year-old’s representative speaking out once again as his client weighs up his options.

Villarreal has already confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur benchwarmer Davinson Sanchez is the subject of an ‘offer’ from Russian Premier League outfit Spartak Moscow.

And after Fabrizio Romano broke the news of Galatasaray’s £8 million bid on Tuesday night, the Colombian’s camp have again attempted to lift the lid on the situation facing Sanchez during the final six weeks of the window.

“Galatasaray is a good possibility,” Villarreal tells Sport Digitale reporter Yagiz Sabuncuoglu. “The news (regarding their interest) is true.”

Davinson Sanchez could leave Tottenham for Turkey or Russia

Sanchez has just one year left on his Tottenham contract. It remains to be seen whether £8 million is enough, however, for Spurs to cash in on a player who became their all-time record signing when he joined from Ajax amid lofty expectations back in 2017.

Sanchez appears to be open to leaving English football behind for a fresh start. Even if his next destination looks likelky be a club outside of one of Europe’s so-called ‘top five leagues’.

“Sanchez sees no problem in playing in Russia,” a member of Sanchez’s entourage told Sport Express last week.

“Therefore, he can easily go to Spartak.”

Tottenham, meanwhile, are hoping to strengthen their oft-error-prone backline with one of the most exciting – and fastest – young centre-halves in Europe, though Wolfsburg’s managing director Marcel Schafer insists that a deal for the £34 million-rated Micky Van de Ven is not quite as close as some in the media have claimed.

“I follow the speculation. But not a single offer has landed on our desk,” Schafer tells WAZ.

“I have not spoken to him either. There is no reason to do so. I expect him back in Wolfsburg next week.”
