West Brom’s financial security and ownership status are currently up in the air, which will impact the club’s summer transfer plans.
As quoted by The Athletic, West Brom managing director Mark Miles has said “everyone can see that to be competitive next season we do need a change around in the squad. That will involve players going out…What is available to spend is dependent on which players go out.”
He also confirmed that the Midlands club are actively “looking at” the loan market for potentially cost-effective transfer solutions.
With the Baggies facing a third consecutive season in the Championship, without having seriously challenged for promotion in the previous two campaigns, Carlos Corberan certainly has his work cut out in bringing Premier League football back to the Hawthorns.

What can West Brom do this summer?
This is a big summer for the club, and they are likely to lose a number of key players. Dara O’Shea has already joined Burnley, and the club will battle to get a good price for Grady Diangana. Jake Livermore was also allowed to depart as a free agent.
No new arrivals have been confirmed yet. The club were linked with Motherwell full-back Max Johnston, but otherwise it has been a very quiet start to the transfer window for West Brom. Corberan will be desperate for some funds to become available before the new season starts and the transfer window enters its final furlong.
In order for that to happen though it is clear that the club will have to make some difficult choices regarding current members of their squad who may attract attention from elsewhere.
