Inter Miami have reportedly set a date for Lionel Messi’s official unveiling, with July 16th penciled in as the date the Argentina superstar will join MLS.
According to the Athletic, Messi will be presented as an Inter Miami player next Sunday alongside former FC Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, with the trio all set to be available for the Leagues Cup opener against Liga MX side Cruz Azul.
Inter Miami announced last month that they had reached an agreement to sign Messi, a transfer that is expected to be the biggest in MLS history and another huge turning point for the division, with Busquets and now Alba following their former Barcelona teammate to Florida.

With Inter Miami also announcing Tata Martino as their new head coach, all the ingredients are now there for David Beckham’s franchise to restart themselves in MLS having, so far, endured a nightmare season that sees the club sat bottom of the Eastern Conference.
Indeed, Messi’s arrival will usher in a new era both on and off the pitch for MLS. And with a date now set in the calendar, fans can begin to get excited about the South American superstar’s move to Florida, which could be a game changer for the sport in the USA.
Inter Miami to Messi could change everything about soccer in America

One transfer can have the potential to change everything in a country, and Messi’s move to Inter Miami could provide just that for the USA, who are arguably not prepared for what’s about to hit them when the Argentine is officially unveiled in Florida.
As we know, Messi is one of the greatest to ever play soccer, and with the attacker now taking his trade to America, the sport as a whole could become something special with an influence as big as the Argentine no. 10 now making his way to MLS and Inter Miami.
