Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Xavi Simons, according to a report.
Journalist Paul Brown has told GiveMeSport that Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign PSV Eindhoven forward Xavi Simons in the summer transfer window.
And, according to Brown, Arsenal are interested in securing the services of Simons.
However, the North London club are not actively pursuing the 20-year-old Netherlands international forward at the moment because they have other deals to complete first.
Brown said about Arsenal and Simons: “I know they have been offered Xavi Simons.
“They do have an interest there but haven’t followed it up as yet. Romeo Lavia, they’ve clearly enquired about, so that would make him, of those names, the more likely to join.
“But as I say, I think that for Arsenal to buy another midfielder, once the Declan Rice deal is done, I think they’ll be looking to move somebody out first.”

Should Arsenal sign Xavi Simons?
In our opinion, if Arsenal are able to sign Xavi Simons for a relatively modest transfer fee, then they should get a deal done.
Yes, Arsenal are well stocked in the attacking department at the moment, but Simons is a big talent and is only 20.
The Netherlands international is a very versatile player who can operate in a number of areas on the pitch.
Simons can operate as a wide forward, down the middle and in attacking midfield.
Last season, the former Paris Saint-Germain youngster scored 19 goals and gave eight assists in 34 Eredivisie matches for PSV.
Simons also scored one goal and gave one assist in seven UEFA Europa League appearances for PSV last season.
