Liverpool-mad pundit Jose Enrique says West Ham United captain Declan Rice is going to be a ‘very good signing’ for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The former left-back added that Declan Rice is a ‘great player’ and he is someone that can ‘improve even more’ when he makes his expected move to Arsenal, as he posted on Twitter.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given his trademark ‘Here We Go’ to that deal by stating on Twitter that the England international has been signed for £100 million, with £5 million in add-ons.

When it’s confirmed, it will be a club-record signing for the London club and a British-record transfer fee.

That was previously held by Jack Grealish, who left Aston Villa for Manchester City in a £100 million deal, as two English stars now top that list.

Whilst Grealish took 12 months to settle in at the Etihad, Rice can’t afford such luxuries because he isn’t joining a team as trophy-dominant as Manchester City, so he needs to hit the ground running.

“Declan Rice to Arsenal is confirmed,” said Enrique. “Very good signing by Arsenal. Great player that under Arteta is going to improve even more.”

Arteta gets his number one target

Over the years, Arteta can’t argue that he hasn’t been backed by the previously-criticised Arsenal owners because they have put on the table what he has wanted.

They haven’t won a trophy since his first season at the club, but come next season, he has to add to that cabinet, or else, the heat will be seriously on him.

The main aim is to win the Premier League title, but Arsenal have to take the domestic trophies seriously and get some trophy-winning experience going with these players.
