Frank Leboeuf has called out Kai Havertz for joining Arsenal from Chelsea and slammed Mason Mount for doing the same ahead of his expected transfer to Manchester United.

The former Chelsea defender added ‘I don’t see the point in signing for Arsenal or Manchester United‘, as he accused the duo of leaving Stamford Bridge for money-orientated purposes, as he told ESPN.

The Kai Havertz deal was completed last week, and with the Chelsea clearout still on-going, it seems as though it’s only a matter of time before Mason Mount also heads for the exit door.

In regards to Mount, either two things needed to happen. Sign a new deal or leave. He only had 12 months left on his deal, so something had to give.

As for Havertz, for over 12 months, he has struggled at Stamford Bridge, so when Mikel Arteta wanted to make him a key signing, then it would have been hard to turn down for the club.

Either way, those calls haven’t impressed Leboeuf, who didn’t mince his words when talking about the duo.

“I don’t see the point of the other two (Havertz and Mount) to sign for Arsenal and Manchester United,” said Leboeuf. “You aren’t promoted to something bigger. You are competing with Chelsea at the same level, only one team can be considered better, it’s Manchester City.

“You have shown to the world, you played for Chelsea and now you want to play for the team that’s at the same level. So, you go there for one reason, for the money or maybe because you play in the Champions League next season, but hopefully, Chelsea will play in the Champions League (again).

“I don’t want to seem resentful, but I don’t understand why they sign for those clubs. I can understand Kovacic and his transfer, but I don’t understand the other two.

“Are you expecting to do better with Manchester United than Chelsea? The same question for Arsenal. Everyone is saying, ‘yeah, Arsenal had a great season’. But where were Arsenal last season? They were in the middle of nowhere.”

How will Havertz and Mount fare away from Chelsea?

You can’t blame the duo for going, it’s not like Chelsea are in the Champions League now that they should stay put.

Plus, one joined the second-best team in England last season, whilst Mount is heading towards a side that’s in the Champions League.

If it all benefits Chelsea in the long run, then will the fans won’t care that much as long as they are winning again under their new boss Mauricio Pochettino?
