Stan Collymore has suggested that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool should try to sign Marcel Sabitzer after his exit from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.
The former Liverpool striker has told CaughtOffSide that for €15 million (£13 million), manager Jurgen Klopp should try to sign Marcel Sabitzer, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Manchester United from Bayern Munich.
United have decided not to make the 29-year-old midfielder’s loan deal from Bayern permanent.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Bayern are willing to sell the Austria international for at least €15 million (£13 million).
Collymore wrote: “And of course, Marcel Sabitzer, who was only on loan, has now returned to Bayern Munich.
“There have been recent reports that the Bavarians are happy for the Austrian to leave permanently for a fee of just €15m (Fabrizio Romano) – if that is true, I cannot believe United haven’t snapped their hand off already.
“If they’re not going to take Bayern Munich up on it, I wonder if Klopp will think about it. He’s proven he can play in the Premier League and that fee is almost too good to turn down, especially when it’s senior international-level midfielders you’re in the market for!”

Should Liverpool bid for former Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer?
In our opinion, Liverpool should not bid for former Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer.
Yes, the transfer fee needed to secure the services of Sabitzer is quite low, but he is 29 now and Liverpool have already signed two midfielders.
Alexis Mac Allister has joined from Brighton and Hove Albion, while Dominik Szoboszlai has moved from RB Leipzig.
Yes, there is still room for quality players in the Liverpool midfield, but we believe that the Reds could find someone better than Sabitzer.
You also have to ask why United did not sign the 29-year-old on a permanent deal.
And if Sabitzer was really that good, why are Bayern so eager to offload him, and that too for such a low price?
During his loan spell at United, Sabitzer had injury issues and made seven starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League, providing one assist in those games.
Sabitzer also made two starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Europa League, scoring two goals in the process.
The midfielder scored one goal in three FA Cup ties for United during his loan spell at Old Trafford in the second half of last season.
