Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign winger Manor Solomon after reaching a ‘verbal agreement’ over a deal.

Manor Solomon is on the verge of signing for Tottenham Hotspur with a medical thought to be imminent.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Tottenham now have a verbal agreement in place with Solomon.

Personal terms have been agreed and Solomon will undergo a medical in the coming days.

Solomon spent last season on loan at Fulham and is now coming back to London, this time as a permanent player.

The 23-year-old only started four Premier League games for Fulham last season and was more used to coming off the bench.

Tottenham must have seen huge potential in the 23-year-old though and ready to pounce with what could be a controversial deal.

Shakhtar Donetsk have threatened Tottenham Hotspur over Manor Solomon

Solomon is still technically owned by Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Israel international was able to suspend his contract and join Fulham last season due to FIFA rules following the conflict in Ukraine.

That loan is over and FIFA have upheld their original decision, allowing Solomon to again suspend his contract.

Solomon’s deal is scheduled to end in December, meaning he is now joining Tottenham as a free agent – as Romano notes.

However, Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin told ESPN in March that Tottenham would face legal action if they try to sign Solomon for free.

Palkin believes that the situation is unfair to Shakhtar and the suspension of his contract will leave the club out of pocket.

Palkin warned Tottenham but Spurs have scheduled a friendly against Shakhtar for a match ‘dedicated to the people of Ukraine’.

Maybe Tottenham and Shakhtar are now on good terms and Solomon will be able to make the move without a hitch.

Hailed as ‘very explosive’ by Jamie Redknapp, Solomon will become the latest Israeli winger to play under Ange Postecoglou, following on from Celtic ace Liel Abada.
