Liverpool are now exploring a deal for RB Leipzig playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai having met his representatives.
Dominik Szoboszlai could become the latest Red Bull player to join Liverpool after talks with his agents.
That is according to The Athletic, who claim that Liverpool have met with Szoboszlai’s representatives in recent days.
However, a deal for Szoboszlai is thought to be ‘complicated’ and Liverpool believe that this will be a very difficult deal to pull off.
Szoboszlai has a huge €70million (£60million) release clause in his contract and Liverpool may need to pay that figure with RB Leipzig unlikely to be keen on negotiating.
Leipzig have already lost star man Christopher Nkunku so they would loathe to lose Szoboszlai too.
An interesting note is that Fabrizio Romano claims Szoboszlai’s release clause is only valid before June 30th.
If not, then the clause would only kick back into effect in January, so Liverpool have just a couple of days to get this deal done.

Liverpool could beat Newcastle United to Dominik Szoboszlai
Liverpool have already landed Alexis Mac Allister but could now secure a huge attacking threat in Szoboszlai.
The 22-year-old – hailed as ‘special’ by Jesse Marsch – racked up 10 goals and 13 assist for Leipzig last season.
A number 10 who can play on either flank if needed, Szoboszlai is a huge talent and could bring an attacking spark to Liverpool’s midfield.

This would be a huge deal for Liverpool and they could beat Newcastle United to his signature.
Nemzeti Sport in Hungary claimed in May that Newcastle were pushing to land Szoboszlai but Liverpool are now pushing.
The Reds love a signing from the Red Bull group having previously landed the likes of Naby Keita, Takumi Minamino, Ibrahima Konate and Sadio Mane in years gone by.
Szoboszlai could join that list but Liverpool are in a race against time to get that release clause activated.
