Kyogo Furuhashi is refusing to give anything away regarding a potential Premier League switch with the reported Tottenham Hotspur target insisting that his focus remains on Celtic for the time being.

With Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario through the door and James Maddison following in his footsteps, Tottenham’s latest rebuild is starting to take shape.

Vicario’s arrival gives new head coach Ange Postecoglou the sort of ball-playing, technically-competent option he needs between the sticks. Maddison, meanwhile, brings a craft and cutting edge Tottenham arguably haven’t had in the centre of the park since Christian Eriksen’s North London heyday.

Finding another centre-forward – regardless of Harry Kane’s future could be the next box for Tottenham to tick; The Sun reporting that Postecoglou could turn to a player he knows and trusts, Kyogo Furuhashi, as he looks to bring his unique brand of all-action attacking football to the capital.

Postecoglou brought Kyogo to Celtic back in 2021 after the Japan international caught his eye at Vissel Kobe. Kyogo then scored 34 times in all competitions last term as the straight-talking Aussie guided the Hoops to a fifth domestic treble in eight years.

The prolific 28-year-old was never going to give much away when quizzed on those Tottenham links, however, insisting that he is refusing to let the speculation become a disastrion.

“No comment,” Kyogo says, via the Daily Record.

“The future will bring what the future brings. I’m only thinking about doing my best for the club I belong to now.

“I went to Celtic and achieved results. I hope to improve my technique and grow even more.”

An outstanding technician and a relentless presser from the front, Kyogo came to epitomise Postecoglou’s Celtic side like few others during two years north of the border.

He could have big boots to fill if Bayern Munich are successful in pursuit of Harry Kane, however. Daniel Levy remains reluctant to sell, though BILD’s Christian Falk believes personal terms between Kane and the Bundesliga champions have already been agreed.
