Don Hutchison has expressed his shock at speculation linking Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are interested in signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer transfer window.
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp personally wants the 24-year-old striker at Anfield for next season and beyond.
Klopp really appreciates Osimhen, and Liverpool owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), will “try to accommodate” the wishes of the German manager.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that Liverpool have already made contact with Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, and have enquired about the Nigeria international striker.
Napoli are reportedly looking for €180 million (£154.40 million) in transfer fees for Osimhen.
Former Liverpool player and pundit Hutchison cannot believe that the Reds are now being linked with Osimhen, noting that Liverpool pulled out of a potential deal for Jude Bellingham before he went to Real Madrid this summer.
As reported by The Guardian, Madrid paid Borussia Dortmund an initial transfer fee of £88.5 million for the England international midfielder.
Liverpool were linked with Bellingham earlier this year, but nothing materialised in the end.
