Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is now reportedly trying to get a deal done for Villarreal defender Pau Torres, a player Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with.

According to The Daily Mail, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Bayern Munich all want to sign Pau Torres from Villarreal in the summer transfer window.

Torres has a release clause of £55.5 million in his contract at Villarreal, but Villa are trying to get a deal done for the defender for £35 million.

The Yellow Submarine need to sell players, and the Villans are reportedly trying to take advantage of this.

Villa manager Unai Emery worked with Torres at Villarreal, and described the 26-year-old Spain international central defender as “an amazing player” in Football.London in January 2021.

Could Aston Villa get Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target Pau Torres for £35 million?

In our opinion, Aston Villa could struggle to convince Villarreal to sell them Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool target Pau Torres for £35 million when his release clause is £55.5 million.

After all, for £35 million, Tottenham, Liverpool and Bayern Munich all will be very keen to get a deal done.

True, Emery is a former Villarreal manager, but that does not mean that the Spanish club will give Villa discount.

Moreover, Torres himself could fancy a move to Liverpool or Bayern instead of to Villa.
