Rudy Galetti has said that Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are willing to pay £38 million for Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison.
The Italian journalist has told GiveMeSport that Newcastle United are interested in signing James Maddison from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.
Galetti has said that the Magpies are ready to pay £38 million plus add-ons for the 26-year-old England international playmaker, described as “an incredible player” by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in The Manchester Evening News in June 2019.
The reporter has added that Newcastle’s Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Maddison as well.
Leicester will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.
Galetti said: ”Newcastle don’t give up for James Maddison and today he remains the main target to strengthen the midfield.
“The Magpies are willing to pay around €40-45 million (£34-38 million) plus add-ons to convince Leicester and Tottenham are on his track as well.”

James Maddison would make Newcastle United better
In our opinion, Leicester City playmaker James Maddison would be a very good signing for Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old is a very creative player, and his best years are ahead of him.
Maddison would make Leicester more creative and would be able to help in scoring more goals.
The England international himself scores goals.
The Leicester no. 10 scored 10 goals and gave nine assists in the Premier League last season.
