Rodrigo Moreno is interested in a La Liga return with Sevilla looking to offer the Spain international a route out of relegated Leeds United.
If any player could emerge from the wreckage that was Leeds United’s 2022/23 season with his reputation intact, it was their 32-year-old forward.
Rodrigo Moreno scored 13 Premier League goals – 15 in all competitions – but his dead-eyed finishing alone could not offset a dreadful defensive record which finally caught up with a team who failed to pull off a ‘Great Escape’ for a second season in a row; relegated on the final day of a traumatic campaign.

Leeds’ Rodrigo Moreno could return to La Liga
One of Leeds’ highest earners on a rumoured £100,000-a-week; Rodrigo is highly unlikely to be leading the line for the Yorkshire giants when Cardiff City arrive at Elland Road on the opening weekend of the new Championship season in August.
Diario AS may have been a little premature, however, when they suggested this week that the £26 million former Valencia star was ‘very’ close to reuniting with former Leeds director Victor Orta in Andalusia.
“We do not have anything firm. I know about the of interest but (is it) concrete? No,” Rodrigo’s agent and father, Adalberto Machado, tells DAZN.
“Of course, there is nothing fixed. But Sevilla will always be a team that will have our interest, obviously”.
Vamos di Sevilla add that, if Rodrigo is to become one of Orta’s first signings since replacing the legendary Monchi at the Europa League winners, he will likely have to take a substantial pay cut. He also wants a three-year contract. More than Sevilla are reportedly willing to offer.

It remains to be seen if Orta returns for any other members of the Leeds squad he played a major role in constructing. Junior Firpo, Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto are among those facing uncertain futures.
Marc Roca, meanwhile, is closing in on a deal that will see him join Sevilla’s arch rivals Real Betis. Roca’s representatives were in Spain for talks last week.
Robin Koch could also leave on a free.
