Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly pressing ahead to sign Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal and Barcelona are interested in signing Ilkay Gundogan, who is out of contract at Manchester City this summer.
Treble winners City want the Germany international midfielder to sign a new deal, while Barcelona are keen on bringing him to Camp Nou on a free transfer.
Mundo Deportivo have reported that Arsenal are “bidding very hard” to try to secure the services of Gundogan in the summer transfer window.
The Spanish publication reported earlier this week that Gundogan’s agent has told Barcelona that the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder is close to making a decision about moving to Camp Nou.

Ilkay Gundogan hope for Arsenal fans
In our view, that Arsenal are pushing very hard to get a deal done for Ilkay Gundogan is very encouraging for the Emirates Stadium faithful.
It shows that the Gunners think that they could be able to convince the Germany international midfielder to move to the North London club.
Now, of course, leaving Manchester City for another club in England just after winning the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League sounds unlikely, but you never know.
That Arsenal are not giving up on signing the £165,000-a-week (SalarySport) in the summer transfer window is a reason for the fans to be optimistic about seeing the midfielder play for their team next season.
