Celtic are now interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi having confirmed Brendan Rodgers’ return.
Brendan Rodgers could immediately launch a raid on Leicester City with Wilfred Ndidi now being eyed by Celtic.
That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, who claim that Celtic are eyeing up a move to bring Ndidi to Glasgow.
It’s suggested that Ndidi could be part of a major exodus from the King POwer Stadium this summer after Leicester suffered relegation.
Harvey Barnes and James Maddison are expected to go whilst Timothy Castagne and now Ndidi are attracting interest.
Celtic have today confirmed the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as their new manager following Ange Postecoglou’s move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Rodgers quit Celtic for Leicester back in 2019 and is now back in the Parkhead dugout.
The Northern Irishman will of course want new signings and could look to raid Leicester by luring Ndidi to Parkhead.
Rodgers hailed Ndidi as ‘incredible’ back in 2019 but the Nigerian isn’t quite as highly rated as he once was…

Wilfred Ndidi would be a shock signing for Celtic
Ndidi joined Leicester for £15million back in 2017 having impressed for Belgian side Genk.
Ndidi was a star for the Foxes and became one of the top holding midfielders in the Premier League.
It’s only a year ago that Paul Scholes was urging Manchester United to make a move to sign Ndidi.
This past season was a real disaster for everyone at Leicester though and Ndidi was caught up in that.

The 26-year-old went from star holding midfielder to liability as he appeared to completely lose confidence in a dreadful Foxes side.
It may well be that Ndidi now needs a fresh start away from Leicester in order to kickstart his career again, but few would have predicted a move to Celtic.
We can imagine that Leicester would still want a decent fee for Ndidi, even with just a year left on his contract.
A permanent deal would be a huge shock but maybe Rodgers can pull off a deal and try to bring Ndidi back to his best in Glasgow.
