The agent of former Fulham winger Manor Solomon admits that a return to the Premier League is the ‘goal’ as Tottenham Hotspur eye the Shakhtar Donetsk man.
Now, whether or not the London step up their interest may depend on how much stomach Daniel Levy has for a legal battle.
Sergei Palkin, Shakhtar Donetsk’s president, told ESPN recently that Tottenham Hotspur may find themselves in court if they land Manor Solomon on a free transfer this summer. A FIFA ruling means the Israel international could terminate his contract six months ahead of schedule due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, with Tottenham currently at the front of the queue for Solomon’s signature (The Athletic).

“Can you imagine,” Palkin fumes. “We pay big money for this player and finally Tottenham receives him for free? It is not fair in respect of our club. We will definitely go to court and we will fight for ourselves.”

Palkin admits that Solomon appears to have little interest in returning to Shakhtar; seeing out the final few months of his contract.
And the winger’s agent, Gilad Katsav, is hard at work looking to secure his client a return to English football.
“He has a contract until December at Shakhtar. Our goal is to keep him in England because that is what he wants,” Katsav tells Sport5.
“There are many reports that are not true, there are reports that are partly true. If we have something to publish, we will publish it.”

Solomon scored five goals in 24 games for Fulham. Strangely enough, all of those goals came in a five-game purple patch shortly after the turn of the year; the one-time Manchester City target cutting inside from the left and curling shots into the far corner.
And, in Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham now have a coach renowned for getting the best out of mercurial, tricky wingers like Solomon.
