A former agent of Napoli forward Hirving Lozano believes Aston Villa or West Ham United may be the ideal destination with a move to the Premier League ‘his dream’.

As far as the Mexico international was concerned, the champagne which flowed so graciously forth following Napoli’s first Scudetto triumph in three decades may have tasted ever so slightly bittersweet.

Hirving Lozano, after all, started only 20 of Napoli’s 38 Serie A matches. Only four times in the Champions League too.

And according to Alessandro Monfrecola – who once worked as an ‘intermediary’ for the former PSV Eindhoven talisman – now may be the right time for Lozano to pursue his Premier League ambitions with Victor Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia expected to remain at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and help the Partenopei defend their much-coveted crown.

Hirving Lozano dreams of the Premier League

“I think if Lozano leaves Napoli, he will do it for an English club,” Monfrecola tells Radio CRC via ArenaNapoli

“The rumours that reach me from Mexico tell me that there is interest from English clubs. I think Aston Villa or West Ham will be the solution for Lozano.”

West Ham, Conference League champions, are lining up a bid for Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes. But, even after the Foxes were relegated from the top-flight in May, Lozano could come that little bit cheaper.

A player who set Napoli back £37 million in 2019 has just one year left on his contract. Aston Villa are also in pursuit of new attacking additions, missing out on Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio to Paris Saint-Germain.

Lozano, meanwhile, joined up with the Unique Sports Group agency following the passing of Mino Raiola last year. As Monfrecola points out, Lozano’s new representatives have a stable chock full of Premier League talent; Aaron Wan-Bisssaka, Reece James and Callum Wilson among them.

“When Raiola died, he was one of the few (clients) to change agency, moving towards an agency developed towards sales in England,” Monfrecola adds. “This is his dream. The boy’s signal is clear.

“He’s fine in Napoli, but his dream is to play in the Premier League.”
