Brendan Rodgers is now on the verge of a stunning return to Celtic – and that could be a big blow for Tottenham Hotspur.
Celtic are nearing a deal to bring Brendan Rodgers back to Glasgow, which could see John Kennedy stay at the club.
That is according to The Scottish Sun, who report that Rodgers is now ‘on the verge’ of taking the Celtic job again.
It’s stated that positive talks have been held today and Rodgers is now set to accept a stunning Celtic return.
Rodgers made a rather acrimonious exit from Celtic in 2019, leaving the club to join Leicester City.
Some Celtic fans have struggled to forgive Rodgers for leaving but the Northern Irishman is now looking increasingly likely to come back.
It’s stated that Rodgers knows the position is his to turn down with Celtic ‘increasingly confident’ that he will accept.
Rodgers has been out of work since leaving Leicester City in April and some had wondered whether he could take a year out of management.
Rodgers is now ready to get back in the dugout though, potentially replacing Ange Postecoglou following his move to Tottenham.

John Kennedy future now under the microscope as Brendan Rodgers nears Celtic return
The Daily Record claim that Rodgers specifically asked Celtic to made sure John Kennedy stays at the club.
Rodgers worked with Kennedy at Celtic and wants the assistant manager to stay at Parkhead.
Rodgers tried to lure Kennedy to Leicester City in 2019 but the Scot chose to stay at Celtic instead.

The Northern Irishman even hailed Kennedy as an ‘absolutely brilliant first-team coach’, so it’s no surprise he wants him to stay.
This comes amid claims that Kennedy is keen to follow Postecoglou to Tottenham.
Reports from the Daily Mail suggested that Kennedy had asked Celtic to let him go to Spurs.
That could change with Rodgers back in the picture though and Tottenham could be left disappointed.
