Kevin Campbell has reacted to suggestions that Declan Rice’s transfer from West Ham United to Arsenal is a ‘done deal’.
The Arsenal legend added that ‘we are a serious club again’ after being told that Declan Rice claim by Highbury Squad host Sophie Nicolaou.
The West Ham United captain recently won the Europa Conference League and his stock is at an all-time high, even though things could have gone very wrong on the Premier League stage this term.

From the perspective of those at the London Stadium, it’s pretty simple, they want £100m+ for their star midfielder, who helped end their 43-year wait for a major trophy this term.
The 2023 summer transfer window will officially open on Wednesday and Arsenal, like many others, will clearly want to get their deals done as soon as possible.
And the fans might not have to wait much longer if you go by the claims from Highbury Squad host Sophie Nicolaou, with Kevin Campbell sharing his thoughts.
“I have some information and you can take it as you wish,” said presenter Sophie Nicolaou. “I was talking with someone over the weekend and let’s just say someone is beyond tight with West Ham.
“What would you say if said person said to me that ‘it’s a done deal’.”
Campbell responded: “There is only one club he is going to. If you said that to me, just like you did, then I would politely agree with you and say ‘yes, I get it’. Remember, we are the only London team in the Champions League.
“Now we have to get the Rice and peas in, with a little bit of Caicedo bread. I think we need to strengthen our midfield properly.
“I think this signing is proof that we are serious as a football club again. That’s how important the Declan Rice signing is for Arsenal. England international. He has been unbelievable. Still 24. Fantastic young player. Nowhere near his prime yet.”

Statement of intent from Arsenal if they sign Rice
That crazy Treble-winning Manchester City machine is very hard to stop, and if anyone is going to do that, then you need serious depth in quality within your squad.
Arsenal didn’t have that this season and it played a big part in them stumbling during the final months of the campaign.
But add Rice to your squad, then it, not only sends out a statement of intent from the Gunners, but provides them with bench strength that could, at the very least, trade blows with Manchester City.
