Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly be about to sign David Raya, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal wanted before they brought in Aaron Ramsdale.
According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing former Arsenal target David Raya from Brentford in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that new Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou wants to make Raya his number one goalkeeper for next season and beyond.
Spurs have agreed “personal terms” with Raya, according to The Times, who have added that Tottenham’s bitter North London rivals Arsenal wanted to sign the Spain international back in the summer of 2021 before they brought in England international goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United.
However, according to the report, Spurs do not want to pay the £40 million transfer fee that Brentford want for Raya.

Could former Arsenal target David Raya succeed at Tottenham Hotspur?
In our view, former Arsenal target David Raya could be a success at Tottenham Hotspur.
That the Gunners wanted to sign the Spaniard shows that he is highly rated.
Now, of course, we have seen Aaron Ramsdale go from strength to strength at Arsenal and is now one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
We believe that Raya could repeat that success at Spurs.
The Brentford goalkeeper is very good with his feet and is a brilliant shot-stopper.
And he is only 27.
If Tottenham are able to sign Raya in the summer transfer window, then they would be getting a goalkeeper whose best years are ahead of him.
