Alan Brazil has shared the ‘inside information’ he has been told on who will be Celtic’s next manager following the departure of Ange Postecoglou.
The Celtic-mad pundit added ‘this will astonish you’, but he stated that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will have a ‘big say’ on who will be Celtic’s next manager because of his close ties with the club’s owner, Dermot Desmond, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (08/06/23 at 6:10 am).
If that’s the case, then it ties in with the recent rumours that Manchester City coach, Enzo Maresca, is on Celtic’s shortlist to be their new manager, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Bhoys won the treble this season, so the next man through the doors will have serious pressure on his shoulders from the get-go.
That’s what Postecoglou faced when he arrived as an unknown figure, but the big difference is that Rangers had just won the Scottish Premiership title under Steven Gerrard’s stewardship.
It’s a different ball game for the next man and why shouldn’t Celtic go down the same niche route because it worked before? Either way, Brazil shared his thoughts, added in with Ally McCoist’s comments.
“I have a wee bit of inside information here,” said Brazil. “I have to be careful what I say. I had a look at the betting. I don’t want to put people into putting a fiver on him and putting it on the wrong way.
“But do you know who will have a big say on who will get the Celtic job? This is going to astonish you, by the way, is Pep Guardiola. He is going to have a massive say.
“Do you know why? Him and Dermot Desmond are very close.”
Ally McCoist also responded in the background by mentioning: ‘Aye, the number two at Man City. One of his coaches is in the running, big time.”

Advantage Rangers or is the ball still in Celtic’s court?
If big Ange was still in the Celtic dugout, then they would have headed into next season as favourites for the title and Michael Beale in need of a very good start.
But perhaps all of that now changes on its head with the treble-winners now needing to reboot again.
Whilst it’s still those same winning players, a number of them could now be plucked away, especially by Tottenham’s new man himself and you just never know what could come with a change in thinking on the touchline.
