Charles Watts has shared that Declan Rice remains the ‘priority’ signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but Moises Caicedo remains ‘very interested’ in the Champions League club.
Following West Ham United’s Europa Conference League win on Wednesday night, it now opens the door for Arsenal to get a deal done for Declan Rice because his priority would have been on other matters.
But if the Gunners secure that expected deal for the England midfielder, will they go in for somebody else? Arsenal transfer expert Charles Watts says Brighton and Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo ‘really likes’ the north London club, as he told his own YouTube channel.

At the end of the day, Manchester City are the blueprint and they have hundreds of hundreds of millions worth of talent on the bench alone.
The unfortunate situation with football now is that if Arsenal are to compete, then they probably have to go down the same road.
Bulk up their squad to stupid amounts and then maybe, just maybe, they can become champions of England again, as Watts shared his thoughts on Caicedo.
“Chelsea being heavily mentioned to turning their attentions to Moises Caicedo,” said Watts. “My understanding of Caicedo is that he is still very, very interested in Arsenal.
“But he is interested in all the top clubs. He’s not going to shut himself off this summer, in terms of focusing on one club. He knows there will be a lot of clubs interested in him, and so do his agents. They aren’t going to just focus on one club. They are open to offers and speaking to people.
“There is no release clause in Caicedo’s contract. It’s a little more difficult than what has gone on with Liverpool and Mac Allister. They have got a fantastic deal there for an excellent player. But they have a release clause and they were able to take advantage of that.
“Rice is the priority, whether Arsenal can do both, we have to see how the summer progresses. In terms of Caicedo, he is still very, very interested in Arsenal, it’s a club Caicedo likes. He has made that very, very clear.”

Arsenal should push for both Rice and Caicedo
Both are very different types of midfielders and both would enhance the quality that’s already within the squad.
It could even be argued that the duo start ahead of Thomas Partey, who has been the key midfield general for Arteta, but his form faded away during the crunch moments of the season.
Either way, pushing for both signatures and putting the money on the table for those players sends out a serious statement of intent from the London club.
