Aston Villa are hoping to win the race for Youri Tielemans with Unai Emery now chasing a quick deal for the midfielder.
Unai Emery wants to get a deal done for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans to join Aston Villa this summer.
That is according to The Athletic, who claim that Villa have joined the race to sign Tielemans.
It’s stated that Emery really wants to get the deal done quickly out of fear of missing out on Tielemans.
Aston Villa allegedly missed out on a top midfield target in January and don’t want to risk a repeat situation.
The report claims that Villa are now expected to launch an approach to sign Tielemans in the very near future.
Villa have secured Europa Conference League action and are now really looking to push on next season.
Emery does already have some quality midfielders at his disposal in Boubacar Kamara, Douglas Luiz and John McGinn.
Tielemans would add to that quality and may be something of a coup for Villa if they can pull it off.

Youri Tielemans has been linked elsewhere
Leicester City have suffered relegation to the Championship and Tielemans is on his way out.
The Belgian midfielder is out of contract and unsurprisingly doesn’t want to play in the second tier.
Now available for absolutely nothing, Tielemans is bound to attract interest.
Football Transfers reported in May that Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are all keen on Tielemans.
Italian reporter Rudy Galetti also claimed in April that Arsenal’s confidence surrounding a deal for Tielemans was ‘growing’.
Yet with Tielemans showing some unimpressive form this season, it feels like a move to a top Premier League club now feels unlikely.
That may allow Villa to swoop in and offer Tielemans a starring role in the hope of getting him back to his best under Emery.
Hailed as ‘special‘ by Wes Morgan, Tielemans really needs to think carefully about his next move and focus on playing time and his own development over anything else after a difficult season.
