TalkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist has said that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou would be a very good managerial appointment for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Athletic have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are close to appointing Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach.

Rangers legend and talkSPORT pundit McCoist believes that the 57-year-old Australian would be a very good managerial appointment for Spurs.

McCoist said about Postecoglou on talkSPORT (6:27am, June 5, 2023): “He has been brilliant. You have got to stand and look at what he has done and what he has achieved, and I think he has been excellent.”

The Rangers legend added: “If I was a Spurs fan, I would not be too upset at all.”

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou could succeed at Tottenham Hotspur

In our view, if Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy backs Ange Postecoglou, then the Celtic boss would be a success at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Australian has been superb at Celtic and has just led the Hoops to the domestic treble.

Now, of course, we know that Celtic have dominated Scottish football for years.

It is almost a given in most seasons that the Hoops would win the title.

However, there is always the threat from Rangers.

And it is really hard to be consistent week in and week out and season after season.

What is remarkable about Postecoglou is that he signed his own players, such as Kyogo Furuhashi, and succeeded with them.

Celtic played incredibly entertaining football under the Australian as well.

Yes, Celtic could not really make a huge impact in Europe under Postecoglou, but you cannot put that all to his management.
