Chris Sutton has lauded Ange Postecoglou’s style of play amid claims that he could leave Scottish treble-winners Celtic and join English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Celtic striker stated that ‘if Ange Postecoglou decided to leave’ for Tottenham, then he is ‘certain’ that the 57-year-old would provide ‘entertainment’, in regards to his style of play.

For Spurs supporters, that has been an issue during their last few years, but Sutton added that there is ‘no bus to park’ for Postecoglou, as he told 606 on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

From Nuno Espirito Santo to Antonio Conte, it has been years and years of decline for a Spurs team that was once finishing in the Champions League places on a regular basis.

In truth, it does need to be pointed out that the downfall started under Mauricio Pochettino and there shouldn’t be many excuses for not being able to win a trophy under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho or Conte.

But even if Postecoglou struggles to get over that trophy line, if appointed by Spurs, for Sutton, he would still bring that forward-thinking brand of football that fans are craving.

“The brand of football, that’s the biggest box, in my opinion, that Ange Postecoglou ticks,” said Sutton. “The last three managers at Spurs. Nuno Espirito Santo, Jose Mourinho and Conte. Back foot managers. Park the bus.

Postecoglou doesn’t have that bus to park. Spurs fans want the trophies, but they are saying ‘if we can’t get a trophy, then give us some entertainment’ and they will certainly be entertained if he decides to go there.”

POSTECOGLU WINS THE TREBLE…

Celtic fans certainly don’t want their manager to leave because he is doing a quite stellar job at Parkhead.

Whilst many eyes were on the all-Manchester FA Cup final on Saturday, the Hoops stuck their own chest out by securing yet another treble after beating Inverness in the Scottish Cup final.

When Postecoglu first joined Celtic many were mocking the former Australian coach, wondering who he is, well, he is the one having the last laugh now.
