Leeds United are interested in Celta Vigo boss Carlos Carvalhal as they consider replacements for Sam Allardyce.
Ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal is fancied by Leeds United following Sam Allardyce’s departure.
Allardyce has left Elland Road having failed in his task of keeping Leeds in the Premier League.
The Whites were relegated last Sunday and must now prepare for life in the Championship, starting with a new manager.
West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan is unsurprisingly being eyed by Leeds but Carvalhal is another option.
That is according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, who claims that Leeds are looking at Carvalhal as a possible appointment.
Carvalhal’s history in English football with Sheffield Wednesday is thought to be a factor with Leeds looking for some kind of Championship know-how.
Corberan and Carvalhal both have decent Championship experience now and have both been losing playoff finalists in years gone by.

Who is Leeds United target Carlos Carvalhal?
Carvalhal did carve out a decent playing career for himself, having three spells at hometown club Braga.
Carvalhal has been something of a nomad in his managerial career, taking charge of a staggering 21 clubs.
The early days in Portugal dominate the list, taking charge of Espinho, Freamunde, Vizela, Aves, Leixoes, Vitoria Setubal, Belenenses, Braga, Beira-Mar and Vitoria Setubal again.
The 57-year-old has been a little more adventurous the last 15 years though, first heading to Cyprus with Asteras Tripolis.
Spells back in Portugal with Maritimo and Sporting followed before jetting off to Turkey with Besiktas and Istanbul Basaksehir.
Carvalhal then spent three years out of the game and may have wondered if another opportunity would arise.
Sheffield Wednesday pounced in 2015, giving Carvalhal a surprise move to England – and one he grasped as he guided the Owls to the 2016 Championship playoff final.
Carvalhal moved on in 2017 and ended up becoming Swansea City manager, failing to keep them in the Premeir League.
Carvalhal moved back to Portugal with Rio Ave and Braga, winning the Taca de Portugal with the latter against Benfica in 2021.
A brief spell in the UAE with Al Wanda followed last summer, but Carvalhal then took the Celta Vigo job in 2022.
Carvalhal had a great start, losing just three of his first 16 games in charge of Celta.
The form has really tailed off though, losing seven times in the last nine games – and that leaves Celta fighting for their lives.
Celta head into today’s final-day clash with Barcelona sitting outside of the relegation zone by just one point.
Carvalhal and Celta are in real danger of going down today – something which may make Carvalhal available, but may leave Leeds having second thoughts too.
