Fabrizio Romano has said that Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard does not want to leave the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

The Italian journalist has reported on Twitter that Arsenal and Martin Odegaard’s camp will hold a new round of talks over a fresh deal in the coming weeks.

The £30 million (Sky Sports) Norway international attacking midfielder is happy at Arsenal and is in no rush to put pen to paper on a deal deal.

Romano has claimed that Arsenal and Odegaard’s plan is to sign a new contract this year.

The Daily Mail reported this week that Paris Saint-Germain want to sign the 24-year-old Arsenal star in the summer transfer window.

Romano wrote: “New round of talks between Arsenal and Martin Ødegaard’s camp over new deal will take place in the next weeks.  #AFC

“No rush as all parties want the same, the plan is to continue together and get new deal done this year. Martin, very happy in London.”

Martin Odegaard is an Arsenal gem

In our view, Arsenal should do everything they can to keep Martin Odegaard for next season and beyond.

Now, we do not think that the Gunners will sell the former Real Madrid player in the summer transfer window.

But, with PSG reportedly interested, you just never know.

We believe that Odegaard is one of the best players on the books of Arsenal at the moment.

And he was really brilliant this season.

Odegaard scored 15 goals and gave seven assists in 37 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this campaign.
