Manchester City are reportedly willing to sell Joao Cancelo, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal want to sign.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal want to sign Joao Cancelo from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

90Min have claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta personally wants the Portugal international full-back at the Emirates Stadium.

The Spaniard manager reportedly thinks that the 28-year-old, who can also operate as a wing-back, would fit in perfectly at Arsenal.

Sport have now claimed that Manchester City have decided to sell Cancelo, who joined Bayern Munich on loan from the Premier League champions in the January transfer window.

The Portuguese star is scheduled to return to City at the end of the season.

Sport have reported that Barcelona want to sign Cancelo, and that City are ready to sell him for €40 million (£35 million).

The report in the Spanish publication has added that at City, Cancelo “is considered an arrogant and argumentative player so Guardiola does not want to have him in his ranks anymore”.

Arsenal should not worry about signing Joao Cancelo

In our view, Arsenal should not worry about Joao Cancelo.

That Bayern Munich signed the Portuguese star on loan in the middle of the season shows how highly he is rated in the footballing community despite his problems with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

The 28-year-old wants to play regularly, and that shows the kind of professional he is.

Arsenal are going places, and Cancelo would fit in well at the Gunners and would make them better.
