Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag reportedly personally wants to sign Liverpool target and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

Both Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in signing Mason Mount from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

90min reported this month that Liverpool are keen on bringing the 24-year-old England international midfielder to Anfield.

Sky Sports have reported that Manchester United want to sign the £85,000-a-week (The Daily Mail) Mount as well.

The Sun are now reporting that United head coach Erik ten Hag personally wants Mount at Old Trafford for next season and beyond.

The Red Devils’ head coach has told United officials to get him the England international midfielder.

The report has added that United are willing to pay £60 million for Mount, who himself is keen on a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United interest in Mason Mount a blow for Liverpool

In our view, Mason Mount would be a very good signing for Liverpool, but Manchester United’s keen on the Chelsea star does complicate matters for them.

United will play in the UEFA Champions League next season and are very likely to challenge for the Premier League title as well.

And if the player himself is keen on a move to Old Trafford, as has been reported in The Athletic, then it could be hard for Liverpool to convince him to make the switch to Anfield.
