Everyone on social media is talking about sloppy steaks this month, but why? What are they? Read on to find out.
The phrase comes from the comedy show I Think You Should Leave, which was first released in 2019 and has had two seasons.
It was created by comedian Tim Robinson, who also plays the lead character, and sloppy steaks is one of many hilarious sketches.
In the series, he tries to get people to go away and does everything he can to drive someone to the point that they need to leave.
Here’s what sloppy steaks means…

What are sloppy steaks?
Sloppy steaks comes from Season 2 Episode 2, when Robinson plays a man who is convinced his friend’s baby cries in his arms because he “used to be a piece of sh*t”.
“Did you just see that thing? Where she thinks I give a rat’s a** that her baby cried because it knows I used to be a piece of sh*t?” he says.
Someone then asks if he really was a piece of sh*t and he replies: “Oh yeah. Slicked back hair, white bathing suit. sloppy steaks, white couch.”
“What are sloppy steaks,” someone else asks – to which he explains: “It’s a steak with water dumped on it. It’s really, really good.”
Later on, the scene cuts back in time to him and a group of friends pouring water over their steaks at a restaurant called Truffoni’s.
Why did he used to eat steak covered in water? Who knows – but it made him a “piece of sh*t”. You can watch the whole sketch here.
Why is everyone talking about them?
Season 2 of I Think You Should Leave arrived in July 2021, so why is everyone suddenly talking about sloppy steaks now?
Well, it’s because the third season is coming really soon and everyone is joking they will eat sloppy steaks while they watch it.
One person wrote on Twitter: “Got my sloppy steaks ready.”
“I can’t wait to celebrate with some sloppy steaks at Denny’s,” said another.
A third person added: “Cannot wait for this new season. Definitely watching it with sloppy steaks.”
“Well sloppy steaks on May 30th is it,” someone else tweeted.
Where to watch I Think You Should Leave
Season 1 and 2 of I Think You Should Leave are available to watch exclusively on Netflix now. Season 3 is coming on May 30.
“There is no such thing as an ordinary interaction in this offbeat sketch comedy series that features a deep roster of guest stars,” the description says.
Tim Robinson won an Emmy for the cult hit comedy series and fans can’t wait to see what hilarious humor Season 3 will bring.
