Udinese may find it ‘impossible to keep’ Serie A hitman Beto with Premier League trio Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Everton all reportedly interested.
That is according to Giampaolo Pozzo; the Udinese owner speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport this week on the occasion of his 82nd birthday.
Beto, after another season in which he’s hit double figures, is likely to be a man in demand once again over the coming months.
Italian publication Messangero Veneto believe that Newcastle United are interested, and Eddie Howe may look to bring in further competition for Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak with Champions League football returning to St James’ Park.

Both Everton and Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, will need more goals from somewhere if they are to avoid a repeat of this season’s struggles; the Toffees one win away from doing like Steve Cooper’s side and securing survival.
Everton, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle like Serie A striker Beto
Everton, per The Mirror, failed with a £20 million bid for Beto in January; Farhad Moshiri’s promise of a new centre-forward going unfulfilled.
Scorer of 21 goals in just 46 starts for a mid-table outfit; there is an acceptance at Udinese that Beto may now be entering his final few weeks at the Stadio Friuli.
“He has great potential and is still young,” Pozzo explains. “But if an offer arrives from a big name, it will be impossible to keep him.”
Beto reportedly has a £35 million release clause in his contract. Newcastle and Nottingham Forest have splashed out similar figures for leading targets in recent times. Though such a fee may be beyond an Everton side struggling with Financial Fair Play issues.
Do not rule out the prospect of Beto replacing Victor Osimhen at Scudetto winners Napoli, meanwhile.
“He has enormous room for improvement,” explains Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino “We can only be happy for him, and enjoy him as long as we can.
“He has the characteristics to become a footballer very similar to Victor Osimhen.”
