There are really exciting predictions for today’s biggest State of Play event of the year, and fans should know exactly what time the PlayStation Showcase 2023 will start in PDT, EST, and UK BST.
It has been a great year for video games so far, but things are about to get even better for PlayStation gamers. The long-awaited Final Fantasy 16 comes out in June, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is pegged to release sometime this year.
While we hope to get a release date for Spidey’s second outing on PlayStation 5, we also cannot wait to see what the upcoming showcase reveals about the future beyond 2023.
What time does the PlayStation Showcase 2023 start?
The start time for the PlayStation Showcase 2023 is 13:00 PDT, 16:00 EST, and 21:00 BST for the UK on May 24th.
Sony has invited fans to watch the event live. You will be able to watch it on either Twitch or YouTube depending on your preference.
It will last a ‘bit over an hour,’ and it will focus on PS5 and PS VR2 games. In addition to first-party titles, there will also be trailers and content from third-party studios and indie creators.
Fake leaks
Fake leaks have been appearing online for the PlayStation Showcase 2023.
Over on the silenthill subreddit, there is an image of a ‘leaked’ lineup of games set to appear. This humongous list includes everything from The Last of Us Factions to Dark Side and Death Stranding 2.
While the alleged leak contains some games that are fairly plausible, it has no legitimacy whatsoever. Still, there’s plenty of reasons to be excited about today’s event.
PlayStation Showcase 2023 predictions
Some of our obvious PlayStation Showcase 2023 predictions include release dates for the announced Final Fantasy 16 demo, as well as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
We would love to see a trailer for Wolverine, and we do think there will be a trailer for The Last of Us Factions with possibly a release date or beta. Honkai Star Rail could also receive a release date for PlayStation as Hoyoverse has confirmed it is coming to PS4 and PS5.
There’s lots of rumors about a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, and we hope this will finally come to fruition as rumors and ‘leaks’ have been circulating for years. Rumors have also started saying Persona 6 will come out in 2024 as a PS5 console exclusive, but, even if true, the most we’d expect to see of P6 is a teaser and even that is highly unlikely.
Lastly, we hope to see new games and IPs announced. Us horror lovers especially want to see the Unreal Engine 5 horror game that Firespite is working on for PlayStation. Maybe we’ll see more of Silent Hill 2 remake or the other announced Silent Hill projects, but we’re doubtful.
