Owen Hargreaves has lauded Kyle Walker for leaving Tottenham Hotspur ‘to win trophies’ as he chases a historic treble with Manchester City.
Back in 2017, Kyle Walker secured a £45 million transfer from Tottenham to Manchester City (BBC Sport), despite the north London club being in the middle of their rise under Mauricio Pochettino.
As mentioned by Hargreaves, it has been a wise move because Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are now ‘favourites for everything’ as two games stand in their way of becoming treble winners, as he told Premier League Productions (21/05/23 at 6:05 pm).

Manchester United in the FA Cup Final – the only other English side to do the treble – and Italian giants and 2010 European Cup winners, Inter, stand in Man City’s way of creating history.
You can bet your bottom dollar that Walker starts both games, as he will want to add to his five Premier League titles and numerous League Cup wins by doing the unthinkable.
Of course, a lot of football is yet to be played and there is drama around the corner, as Hargreaves shared his thoughts on Man City and Walker.
“You want to win more,” said Hargreaves. “When you win something, then you want to win more. That’s the mentality of this group.
“You think of Kyle (Walker), he left Tottenham to win trophies. Five Premier League trophies and a potential to win the Champions League. They are favourites in everything. They could go down as one of the best ever in Premier League history, which is saying something.”

WILL HARRY KANE BE WATCHING KYLE WALKER WITH ENVY?
The trophies are stacking up for Walker, and at the of 32, there is still plenty more to come from the right-back.
But someone like Harry Kane, his former Spurs teammate, must watch on and think ‘what if?’.
It could be argued that the England captain is more talented than Walker, yet Kane has zero trophies to his name and heading down a road that could see him win nothing during his goal-crazy and record-breaking career.
