Thierry Henry has shared his thoughts on the current form of Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal expressing transfer interest in the player.
The Arsenal legend thinks Ilkay Gundogan is ‘unbelievable right now’ for a Manchester City side that is edging ever closer to winning an unthinkable treble, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (17/05/23 at 7:45 pm).
In English football, only Manchester United have reached such a feat, so for their near neighbours to get there, it would cause all kinds of chaos.

At the heart of Manchester City’s midfield is a player of extraordinary talent, a big-game player, an individual who steps up when the pressure hits the fan.
Gundogan proved that last season with his brace on the last day of the season against Aston Villa to help his team win the Premier League title, and he is at it again.
Watching on from afar, Henry has been left mightily impressed by what the 32-year-old, who is out-of-contract in the summer, is producing.
“Right now, he is pretty special in what he does,” said Henry. “Not only off the ball, but how he recovers for his team. How he positions himself.
“He is just unbelievable right now. And that finish (against Everton). Take a bow, son. What a finish!”

ARSENAL’S INTEREST IN GUNDOGAN OF MANCHESTER CITY
Mikel Arteta has been here before when he snapped up Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City last summer.
Now that they are title rivals of the treble-chasing side, it will be interesting if they allow any such business now.
Of course, Gundogan will be on a free in the summer, so Man City wouldn’t be able to do anything if he wants to leave and head to the Emirates, but whilst the interest is there from Arsenal, he is also keen on a move to Spain.
