Laura Woods has reacted to the latest transfer news involving Arsenal and how they want to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United and Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The popular presenter added ‘how amazing’ it would be if Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal signed both Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo when the summer transfer window opens, as she told talkSPORT Breakfast (17/05/23 at 7:30 am).
There was interest from the Gunners in Caicedo during the January transfer window – Brighton blocked the move, with the player’s agent claiming that it was his client’s ‘dream’ to move to the Emirates.

But with the Premier League title heading to Manchester City, once again, those in north London need more quality if they are to dethrone Pep Guardiola’s non-stop winning machine.
Whilst Arsenal fans expected the midfield to be upgraded, it seems as though they are going to well and truly go in this summer by not only trying to bring in Rice, but Caicedo as well, as Alex Crook told talkSPORT.
When Laura Woods and Ally McCoist were told that, they issued the following response.
“Well, they need three or four, don’t they?!” responded McCoist. “If they are going to maintain and challenge next season on all fronts, then they need a bigger squad. Simple. They need a centre-forward as well.”
Woods added: “I don’t want to get too excited yet in case it doesn’t happen. But, of course, how amazing would that be?! Fabulous. I have said it before about Declan Rice. I have said before about how much I love him. We all love Declan Rice. It would be brilliant, wouldn’t it?!”

ARSENAL CAN TRUST ARTETA IN THE TRANSFER MARKET
Yes, that Premier League title hasn’t landed yet, but Arteta has shown enough that he can be trusted to push the team over the line next season.
But it’s going to require the powers that be to take the levels of the squad up a few notches next season, not forgetting that they will be playing Champions League football also.
Arteta has earned that trust where he should be backed to the hills because Arsenal are much closer to ending their near two-decade title drought than people think.
