Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer transfer window.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has reported on Twitter that Victor Osimhen of Napoli is Chelsea’s main striker target for the summer of 2023.

Chelsea could reportedly made a bid of over €100 million (£87 million) for the 24-year-old Nigeria international striker, who is “very annoying to play against” and “just doesn’t stop running”, according to former Blues defender and current AC Milan star Fikayo Tomori in The Times in May 2023.

Would Victor Osimhen succeed at Chelsea?

In our view, Victor Osimhen would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea and could be a massive success at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old is one of the best strikers around and is very “dynamic”.

The Nigerian is also a very prolific goalscorer who was a key figure in Napoli winning the Serie A title this season.

Osimhen has scored 23 goals and has given four assists in 27 Serie A starts this campaign.

The striker scored 14 goals and provided two assists in the league last season, while in 2021-22, he scored 10 goals and gave three assists in Serie A in 2020-21.

Now, there have been issues lately of strikers not doing well at Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku failed to make an impact at Chelsea and is now on loan at Inter Milan.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been so bad that he cannot even start matches regularly.

However, Osimhen is a relatively young striker, and he could really flourish at Chelsea under a very good manager.
