Hugo Lloris will reportedly not play for Tottenham Hotspur ever again in his career.

Hugo Lloris reportedly will not play for Tottenham Hotspur again

The Mirror have reported that Lloris has played his last game for Tottenham during the heavy defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League last month.

The £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) French goalkeeper suffered an injury in that game.

Lloris is under contract at Tottenham until the summer of 2024.

The Mirror have claimed that Tottenham want to sign former Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez from Premier League rivals Aston Villa as a long-term successor to Lloris.

Time to move on

In our view, it is time for Tottenham Hotspur to move on from Hugo Lloris and find someone younger and potentially better.

Yes, we know that Lloris has been superb for Spurs over the years, but he is 36 now.

Lloris is past his best and is making mistakes.

We do not think that Tottenham can rely on the Frenchman any longer.

Spurs have to find a long-term successor to the former Lyon star.

Now, Emiliano Martinez is a very good goalkeeper and won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina, but he is a former Arsenal player.

A transfer to Tottenham would be controversial.
